Dear Accelerated Literacy practitioners,
Congratulations on the launch of your new association and website. As you would know, Accelerated Literacy pedagogy was originally developed for use in remote Aboriginal schools, and, when well implemented, showed promise for improving the literacy outcomes of their learners.
I know that many of the teachers in your association carry a strong commitment to Aboriginal learners and their education in remote, regional and metropolitan schools. As chair of the Education Minister’s First Nations Education Advisory Group, I encourage you to persist in your efforts to improve the quality and rigour of literacy education for our young people, and commend you on your endeavours with ongoing teacher professional learning to this end.
