Accelerated Literacy Practitioners' Association Australia

Congratulations to the Kimberley

Congratulations to ALPAA member Carmel Leahy, who is the recipient of the Primary English Teachers' Association (PETAA) Sue Bremner Travel Scholarship for 2016. Carmel is a classroom teacher at Yiyili Community School in the Kimberley, and used her scholarship to attend the ALPAA symposium and the Australian Systemic Functional Linguistics Association conference in Sydney in September.

Congratulations also to Yiyili Community School (principal Alex Mountford) and Purnululu School (principal Corrie Baxter) who have received a $20,000 grant from the Lindsay Couzins Trust to re-introduce the Accelerated Literacy program into their schools. We hope we can help.
